VANS - Weapons of Mass Ridiculousness

Vans partnered with truth for a custom designed shoe. The concept was to showcase the hundreds of ways to replace cigarettes in young people’s lives. The campaign brief dictated the video needed to look like a montage of Snapchat clips. The Fortland team engineered a POV storytelling approach, mounting cameras on helmets and capturing raw, authentic moments during a road trip around New England. From breakdancers in NYC to crowd surfing at a festival in Vermont, to cliff-diving off a waterfall; we created a social-first video that celebrated diversity and youth culture—complete with custom Snapchat-style animations.

What started as a production challenge became an unforgettable road trip of creative storytelling, ultimately leading the campaign's charge online, in PR efforts and on in-store displays across the USA.
